I have new little twist on fishnets today … GLITTER! I came across these when I was shopping in one of their stores not long ago, and I thought these would be brilliant to do a review on. I haven’t done this brand before, let alone a glitter pair of fishnets!
Now currently these are unavailable to get online, but if you manage to pop into one of their stores, fingers crossed you will be able to get hold of a pair.
Colour: Light Beige
Materials: 74% Polyamide, 16% Elastane, 10% Metallised fibre
Price: £8.99 / Sale £3.00
I glammed up with my pair today as I wanted to create a elegant evening look with a pair of nets. This can be quite hard to do if you’re not used to it, so I thought I would start off with a basic satin maxi dress paired with nude open toe sandals.
The Packaging: as these were from the store, they normally have them open like so (see images below), which means anyone can get their hands all over them. They are held together by being folded with a piece of card inserted in one legs to keep the shaping to them.
Now these don’t look too bad, but I will say that these do not have a gusset to them ,but a small stitch in the middle, so you will need to be careful getting them on – and maybe with some underwear too!
Getting Them On: I took my time getting them over my anklets, making sure I stretched them enough before I let go and rolled the rest up my legs.
These were pretty easy to get on, with enough stretch for your size. I went XS in these pair, but with Small you would have a little more to play with.
On The Legs: well let me start off by saying that I went from a normal floor to a glitter-filled one. There is a downside to this pair and that is a glitter trail left behind you wherever you go. I didn’t expect it to come off so quickly, but then again I’m asking a lot for a pair that is under £10.00 here.
The quality and fit of them are really good; they are quite hard to catch on to, especially under a maxi dress. I did like how they had enough stretch for my legs so they hug really well. I didn’t feel they were tight anywhere and they have been super good to me all evening.
The feel of them are a little rough, but that is expected seeing as they are a cheap fishnet and covered in glitter. I never expected anything soft on the legs.
Now this is the perfect time to mention that these do itch the legs, so I would advise wearing a pair of hosiery underneath to help. I knew I should have layered this pair, but as I was out I didn’t want to get too hot in my layers, so I opted just to wear the nets on their own.
And just a little addition, I wanted to show you all what they look like on the legs with and without flash on. It was a great little surprise when the lights went down and these were shining under the spotlight:
The Toes & Ankle: the toes don’t come with much reinforcement – meaning there is very little toe coverage with that micronetting so you will need to be careful with long or sharp nails. Mine were fine as I cut them back a little – I was in open toe sandals so I had to be extra careful not to rip these.
I had plenty of room for my toes to wiggle about and there was no pressure added either during the evening.
Around the ankles, these are a lovely fitted finish.
The Waistband: as you can see below, it’s a pretty thin one and decent enough if you wish to show it off with a pair of jeans and crop top. This sat around the belly button on me, and held up really well throughout the evening. I was in them for a good few hours, taking them on and off to check out their elasticity – they did well!
Apart from a glitter floor, these are a great pair. I loved the colour, which worked so well with my legs and the glitter was a cute touch instead of using rhinestones. They are super easy to wear under clothing and I would certainly recommend them for sure!
