I got these off eBay some time ago and I have no idea why I have left it so late to do a review on these. I bought them when I bought the Ann Summers Crotchless Fishnet Tights as there was a deal on them.
Now this pair I am hoping will do me proud as I have a similar pair in Wolford (Wolford Bootlace Tights) which is all black with a lace-up design on the front, and this was my bargain version of them.
Colour: Nude / Black
Denier: Around 20/40
Materials: 93% polyamide, 7% elastane
Price: £12.00 / Sale £1.00
Website: Ann Summers – Lace Up Pattern Tights
I cosied up today with my outfit (don’t worry I wore a skirt underneath this) with my jumper and heels. I wanted to go a little simple considering my legs are looking bold and wonderful today!
Jumper: George @ ASDA
Tights: Ann Summers
From The Website: These classically-sexy tights give the illusion of lace up stockings. Wear with one of our lingerie sets and heels for a glam, yet naughty bed-time look.
• Stretchy fabric
• High-rise waist
• Flesh-coloured with black panel
• Lace-up front illusion
The Packaging: it comes in a slimline box with the model wearing the tights on the front and the back going into a little more detail (not much though to be honest).
When you get in, you will find these folded around plain card and ready to get on. I was a little concerned when I laid these on the bed; the lace design looks a little wonky so I pray that it’s ok when they are on the legs.
Getting Them On: I gotta say this took some time. I had to make sure that not only did the lace design line up straight, I had to make sure they looked as identical as possible on both legs. I hate it when it twists out of place… It’s a right nightmare!
I took my time going over my anklets and then rolled them up slowly on the legs before setting in place and ready to go.
On The Legs: well let me start off by saying that I love this design! It looks so realistic with the black boot effect against the nude. I love this combo so much and this would look great with dresses or some smart shorts. Plus the best part is that there is no actual lace to lace up on the legs – less faff means more fun in them!
The quality of these are pretty good considering. Normally Ann Summers tend to be cheap and cheerful, but these are actually quite nice. I didn’t have any issues in terms of snagging or rips either.
The fit of them are true to size, and I had extra stretch in them as well as these are a duo size. This also allowed me to pinch and pull the design in place when needed without having to worry about damaging them.
The feel of them are soft overall, and super smooth on the legs. These don’t feel rough at all and gave me no problems. Even over the lace design, it’s all smooth and not raised at all.
The Toes & Ankle: so the toe area was pretty good. I had plenty of wiggle room in them and they didn’t feel restricted at all. There was plenty of room around the feet as well, with a good fitted finish around the feet and ankles.
You can also see that the design starts from the middle of the foot and works its way right to the top of the thigh – I quite like this as it pairs up so well with court shoes to give it a proper boot effect.
The Waistband & Gusset: as you can see below, these come with a reinforced boxer brief to them, where the colour shade goes from nude to this thicker creamy pink colour instead. It also means that you gotta be careful wearing anything short with these in case it peeks through!
The band comes up super high on me- going past the belly button and in-between my tummy and chest! I don’t know if this is for larger sizes as well, but I was pretty shocked with that.
The gusset as you can see isn’t cotton and doesn’t look that great to me to be honest. I prefer a sewn in cotton patch for comfort and hygiene rather than just nylon.
Can I just add that these have 2 seams at the back (this is normally designed for larger sizes) which was super uncomfortable to wear. You can find this image under packaging – I just kept fidgeting in them purely because the back panelling was not needed at all on these!
I gotta say I do really like this pair, and it’s a great alternative to the Wolford pair I tried out a while ago. I love how it’s against nude, which makes it look a lot more realistic on the legs!
