Not gonna lie, it’s getting a little colder now and I really should start switching to opaques and thicker deniers like these Pretty Polly ones! I got these a while back in their centenary package, and it wasn’t the right time to pull out opaques then… But let’s get reviewing them now 🙂
Materials: 90% Nylon, 9% Elastane, 1% Cotton
I decided to go quite dark with my outfit and add a pop of colour with my skirt. I wore my long sleeve bodysuit paired with my braced skirt and added a chunky knit on top. To jazz it up, I teamed it up with my patent pleaserdom boots.
Bodysuit: New Look
Skirt: Miss Selfridge
Oversized Cardigan: Zara
Tights: Pretty Polly
From The Website: 60 denier might just be the best thickness for a whole half of the year, and it is our best selling denier through two whole seasons. More robust and warm that a 40 denier and prepared for the winter, but not as stifling as a 120 denier that can only be worn around the solstice. 60 is a perfect all rounder, and with the comfy fit and soft fabric of this design, this pair of opaque tights might just be the one you go back to each time they appear in your drawer for the whole Autumn/Winter season.

The Packaging: as these came direct from UKTights, these weren’t in plastic packaging. The front shows the model wearing them at the front, and the back goes into a little more detail about them.
These are super easy to get into – all you have to do is unfold them out of the card packaging and you’re ready to go.
Getting Them On: they are super easy to glide on the legs (the anklets I had to make sure they were scrunched over them so I could pull the rest up the legs).
They roll up so well, as they are super soft inside so you won’t need to worry about it feeling rough at all!
On The Legs: now I said you won’t have to worry about it feeling rough purely because I have done 60 + deniers before and they felt so horrible getting them up the legs. It was cheap material and you could really tell, whereas these are so soft and really smooth inside and out, so you won’t need to worry about that.
The quality of these are really good, and I can see these lasting a good few wears as long as you treat them right and care for them properly. They are such a cosy pair to be in and actually kept my legs warm too. I won’t say I was overheating in them, but they retained some body heat, which mean I didn’t have to layer up too much wearing them either.
The fit of them are great; there was enough stretch for my legs so they could hug properly. I did have some sheer parts from the knees up, but as my thigh are slightly chunky I expected this anyways. If that does bother you, then I would suggest going another size up so you have more material and less transparency on the legs. I didn’t mind the ombre effect as most of my thighs were covered with my skirt.
I will mention that these do pick up dust and other particles quite easily – I had to dust myself off so many times during this shoot so it would look pristine black! It isn’t too bad when you’re on the move, but rolling over blankets and duvets is not the best idea if you want to keep these looking like they just came straight out the packaging.
The Toes & Ankle: come reinforced which I am super happy about. You can tell with that strip going across the toes below. I had plenty of wiggle room in these, and they were super cosy around the feet and ankles too. I had no added pressure and they were amazing to be in throughout the day.
The Waistband: now this band is quite slim, which I was pretty amazed by. I thought it would have been a slightly thicker band as they are a heavier denier, but never mind. These sat right across the belly button on me, and stayed up really well during the day. There was the odd occasion that it did overlap on itself, but it wasn’t a great amount that did and it didn’t stay that way all day either.
They are a lovely fit around the waist and they don’t move about either or fall down whilst you’re on the move. Mine fit me so well and I basically had no issues being in them.
I gotta say I do love this pair. They look great, feel great and I would certainly be wearing them again during Autumn months. I would recommend them for sure if you’re into opaques and looking for comfort, but maybe go one size up if the sheerness bothers you!
