Let’s switch it up this time to do a pair of holdups with a seam that sits at the back. I do have to say that Pretty Polly as a brand is decent, not always my go to but I do love their style.
The only thing that puts me off from time to time is their ‘One Size’ which can either work with you or against you depending on your size. As this is a one size pair, I am 50/50 about these, but let’s see how we get on!
Size: One Size
Denier: Around 20
Materials: 88% Nylon, 12% Elastane
I haven’t worn this satin dress in a while, and I thought why not bring it out to jazz up a simple pair of black backseam holdups. I added my pink studded heels to finish off the look.

The Packaging: these came in a slim box with the model wearing the holdups at the front and the back goes into more detail about the pair inside. When you get in, you will find these in their own plastic packaging, wrapped around card.
On The Legs: well I can say that these look amazing with that semi-matte finish they have going on! They really have that lovely smooth look, and paired with a satin dress really shows them off nicely.
The denier being around 20 is perfect to give the legs some coverage. I do love 20s as you cannot go wrong with pairing them with outfits. They have such a lovely look on the legs, no matter what your skin colour is.
The quality of these are ok, not the greatest as I did manage to snag them and create a baby hole right at the top as soon as I got them on, otherwise they are alright. I will say you need to be careful wearing them if I can snag them this easy right at the beginning of the day!
The fit of them are great on the legs, but I had right trouble with the bands; I will go into that later down the blog. I had enough stretchy material to cover and hug the legs nicely, and this includes around the knees and ankles where you would experience gapping.
The feel of them are super soft against the skin, both inside and out and they don’t irritate the legs either, which is a bonus! They’re easy to glide on and off, without you having to mess with them too much.
The Toes & Ankle: the toes have reinforcement around them, which you can see with the strip going across. The seam also starts from the toe seam underneath too, so you will need to start your line up from the feet.
Around the feet, these are super comfortable to move around in and breathe too. The same can be said for the ankle area, with that smooth fitted finish.
The Bands: I can’t lie but I am not impressed with the bands at all. They are pretty wide, and they hardly stick to the legs. They don’t sit flush at all, and they are quite bumpy as they are full of air in some parts. I sat mine super high as well trying to find the chunkiest part of my thigh, but nothing worked!
I was super disappointed with the bands, especially with how beautiful they are with that velvet finish to them. These will be better for those with thicker thighs, but certainly didn’t work for me.
Other than that, I thought the bands were gorgeous and looked amazing against the black sheer.
If it wasn’t for the bands, I would have really recommended these as a gorgeous classy pair with such a beautiful band, but as these hardly stayed up on me, I gotta say they weren’t a favourite of mine and if anything, gave me too much hassle throughout the day!
