Jive Seamed Stockings you say? Well what’s makes them so Jive like? – It will be the cuban heeled part of these stockings, especially with that thicker denier sole working its way into a backseam and making these a lot more fancier than they look!
Size: One Size
Denier: Around 20
Materials: 82% Nylon, 9% Polypropylene, 9% Elastane
I’m feeling a little summery today – heaven knows why! I wanted to pair this skirt with something light and bright on the top and then keeping it all dark and sophisticated at the bottom. I paired my crop lace top with my statement skirt, and then kept it simple legs down and paired with open toe suede heels!
Top: New Look
Stockings: Pamela Mann
Heels: IVY London
From The Website: If you aspire to 1940s fashion, you will love our retro pencil seam stockings.
The Packaging: is pretty basic, but enough to show you what you’re working with. When you get in, you will find these wrapped around plain card to help keep that foot and leg shaping.
Getting Them On: I gotta say these are way too long for my legs! I ended up having to sit it right at the top otherwise I would end up with a ton of wrinkles at my ankles! I wore my suspender belt quite high so I could keep them sitting super high under my skirt.
I took my time rolling these up the legs, especially over my anklets – it all went on fine 🙂
On The Legs: well I can say that these are decent for what you pay. I feel these are a good alternative if you didn’t want to fork out for pure FF stockings and they do the job just as well!
The denier is perfect to make that backseam pop as well as give good leg coverage. These are still quite sheer even though it looks darker in some of the images below (due to different lighting).
The quality I was super impressed with, as I thought these wouldn’t last until the end of the day but they did so well! No rips or snags were found anywhere at the end of the day! Let me not forget about the amount of stretch these have to them as well; with being one size, you have to cater for all sizes of course, and that means you get a lovely amount of stretch in these. It works in your favour if you are a smaller size, which means that you get these hugging your legs really well and there should be no gapping anywhere either.
The feel of them are soft, but not silky. These are a matte finish, so you will expect them to be a little on the grainy side than silky smooth.
The Toes & Ankle: well the toes are reinforced and you get that lovely darker denier toe strip going across too. This works into that gorgeous sole design, which works into that backseam we love!
The toes have enough wiggle room to them, and no pressure is added at all during the day either so I’m happy about that!
Around the ankles, I kept my stockings up high to prevent any wrinkles, which leaves a nice smooth finish here as shown below.
The Bands: well the bands are thick, long and really good. They held up well all day long without any issues and they did their job. I wore metal clasps which always work with any material – so you shouldn’t have any issues if you have those type of clasps on your belt.
I felt these were too thick for me in terms of length – this is suitable for larger sized individuals as that would stretch out enough on the thighs so it wouldn’t be looking how it is on me right now.
Aside from the length of these, they are pretty good for a pair of cuban heeled stockings. I felt the quality was decent and they were a good pair if you didn’t want to invest in real FF stockings.
