Whilst I was on my travels, I decided to take some time out to do some shoots – gives it a nice change of scenery for sure! Now this cute pair I got from Leg Avenue is a piece which I have been dying to try out. Not only because they are a one size pair and I want to check the fit, but I also love polka dots and wanted to pair them up with my new Dr Marten boots!
Size: One Size
Materials: 87% Nylon, 13% Spandex
Let’s play with colour and monochromes. I fancied adding some serious glitter to my black and white outfit, and thought my Docs fitted perfectly into it all! I kept it pretty simple purely because waist down was my statement piece 🙂
Cami Top: New Look
Tights: Leg Avenue
Boots: Dr Martens
The Packaging: if you haven’t seen Leg Avenue packaging before, then this is what they normally look like. Simple and black at the front showing the front of the model. If you turn it over, it has a pink candy stripe design on the back and also showing the back of the model as well – you get to see what it looks like as an all rounder rather than just the front of the legs.
When you get in, the tights are folded around a piece of card.
Getting Them On: I didn’t have to worry about length so much so I didn’t need to tug as much as I would normally to get them up the legs. These have a nice bit of length to them, so I did my usual scrunch and roll with ease up the legs.
Just remember this will also depend on your leg length and sizing – it can vary for each individual.
Oh and these are fine going over anklets as long as they aren’t sharp.
On The Legs: I gotta say they were great to be in for sure! I didn’t really know what to expect, but I have to say they are a good pair!
The denier is perfect for some real sheer coverage which enhances the polka dots on the legs. The quality of these are decent as I only managed to get 1 snag on this pair throughout the whole day I was exploring in them. I thought they would be a cheaper quality pair so I wasn’t too fussed if they did snag, but to my surprise they actually maintained throughout the day!
The fit of them are perfect on the legs, and as I mentioned before I didn’t really need to tug up the legs at any point when getting them on so these so have plenty of stretch to them. This also means they hug the legs real nice and they don’t have any gapping to them behind the knees or around the ankles either.
The feel of them are so smooth and soft; they are a semi-shine pair (I tried to use flash but it didn’t come out as well as I had hoped) so it will feel like they have a fine coating on them. They don’t irritate the legs in any way either no matter how long you’ve been in them for!
The Toes & Ankle: basically what you see below is how they have been looking all day long. A lovely smooth fitted finish around the toes, feet and ankle, with no wrinkles in sight.
The toes have had plenty of room to wiggle about and not feel squished in any way either. This does have some reinforcement on that front toe strip, but I would still advise you to be careful with long//sharp nails just in case.
The Waistband: now this little part is super cute and not many tights offer this. It has a french cut knicker part (on the front and back) with a scallop-like design. It starts from the waistband and works its way under and around the parts that need to be covered (if you get my drift here).
The bottom image I wanted to show you how high the polka dot design goes up before it becomes sheer, however this can change depending on your size and leg length too.
The waistband itself is super comfy and fits really well, although mine sat way higher than my belly button. I had plenty of stretch in these and they were super snug even if they did sit higher than normal on me. This also means that they hold up the tights well throughout the day so you don’t find them falling down at any point.
I gotta say for a pair that one size fits all – these are pretty awesome. I loved the design (biased there for sure) but the quality is pretty decent too and the fit is great with all that stretch they have to them. I expected a lot less but they nicely surprised me 🙂
