And another pair of nets are hitting the blog today… Only this time we are experimenting with vertical lines!
I got these a while back – I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them. They’re pretty unique and quite individual which is something I love about them. Not everyone can pull off this style, but I will be creating a simple casual look so you can try at least 🙂
Materials: 82% Polyamide, 18% Elastane
10% Off Discount: Panda10 (can be used worldwide)
I wanted something bright paired with these as they can be quite dark, even though they’re nets! I went with my oversized box jumper and added my trainers to them to give it more of a casual feel.
Jumper: Pull & Bear
From The Website: Fiore has created a unique style of fishnet tights, revising this classic hosiery look with a brand new perspective. A medium fishnet base with opaque stripes running down the legs to create a striped vertical pattern that elongate legs and gives a sense of chic sophistication to these fishnets. The Lady Rock Patterned Tights feature a reinforced toe for a comfortable all day wear and extra durability. Perfect for any occasion from a night out to adding a fun twist to your everyday wear. Pair these soft fishnet tights with a pinafore dress and shirt for an on trend look. 82% Polyamide, 18% Elastane
The Packaging: is pretty basic, but enough to get your eyes glued to them. The front shows the model wearing them with an outfit, and close up. The back goes into very little detail.
When you get in, you will find these flat folded and wrapped around card.
Getting Them On: can I just mention how hard I struggled with getting these on?! They are certainly not as straight forward as you think they might be!
I had such a struggle scrunching and rolling them on; especially trying to take care over the anklets too!
Trust me when I say there is hardly any elasticity in these; forget the 18% they mention as that must be in the waistband only! I really had to tug them up the legs, trying not to get my fingers caught in the nets so I don’t end up ripping them before I even spend time in them! I finally got there in the end, but it was a damn right hassle to do so!
Oh and let me just throw in lining up all those strips is hard work in the midst of it all!
On The Legs: after my 30 minute struggle with these first thing this morning, I finally got them on and set how I wanted them to be. They’re not perfectly straight lines, but right now I do not even care. I spent so much time trying to get them on, thinking this would be a simple pair to roll up and get on with…
The denier is pretty thick, which makes the nets and vertical lines stand out. I felt if they were any lighter to darker, it wouldn’t have the same effect; darker would make them look a little more punk/goth and light would just lose the impact.
I really do love the bold statement they make!
The fit of them I won’t even go there, I wish I got a medium instead it might have made my life a little easier. I would recommend going a size up in this pair, as the struggle I had was unreal and I wouldn’t want to put you through that!
The feel of them are pretty rough as well, and this doesn’t help getting them on either. They aren’t rough that they irritate the skin in any way, but just rough to touch on the legs.
The design however makes me change my mind about those negative points; I gotta say it’s edgy, it’s funky and it really is a statement piece. I would love to really dress these up with bold colours, but then it would have to be done in a way where it doesn’t clash massively.
The Toes & Ankle: thankfully the toes on these are reinforced with the same thick denier that are used in those stripes. They cover the toes quite nicely front and back, and allow you enough wiggle room. They don’t add any pressure onto the ones from once you get them on to taking them off.
Around the ankles you bet it’s a fitted finish!
The Waistband & Gusset: so the waistband is a good one; it not too tight compared to the legs and holds up really well throughout the day. These have a good amount of elasticity in them which doesn’t loosen during the day (no matter how many times you need to run to the loo)
They sit around the waist (just higher than belly button level for me) and stays flush against the skin; I didn’t find this rolling over itself at any point during the day.
The gusset as you can see is around a hand-size piece; cotton and breathable.
I would recommend these based on the design only. The fitting was so wrong, it’s unbelievable and I would for sure like to try these in a medium to see if they still are tight on the legs!
