Studio Collants Ballerina Art 287 Holdups

Well these are gonna be fun! I got this pair directly from Studio Collants, and it has to be one of my favourites so far! I decided to dress these up for a ‘drinks in town’ look rather than for work this time round – purely because they are way too fancy to keep in the office!

My Outfit

I was going for a ‘drinks in town’ look today with my red bodycon dress paired with my suede court shoes. You could easily pair sandals or peep toe heels, but I kept it with simple court shoes this time 🙂

The Review

From The Website: ART: 287 Thigh Highs (Top outfit and garter belt in photo for display purpose only)

20 Den

Color: Black

Size: S/M to L/XL (See Size Chart)

A gorgeous hold up in black with deep thigh, foot with ankle design in black with sparkly Lurex yarn. This item is part of the Hush Hush collection by Ballerina and is presented in luxury embossed packaging.

Material: 82% Polyamide 18% Elastane

The Packaging: is always so glam and luxe; showing the model wearing the style on the front of the packaging with the back being quite generic. They normally tend to insert photos of the models into the packaging so the generic outer can be used for all.

When you get in, you will find these wrapped around card, flat wrapped as well – with a gorgeous scent to them as well!

Getting Them On: I took my time to get these on and set them right so I don’t have to pinch and pull them into place afterwards. I did my usual scrunch and roll up the legs, taking my time going over my anklets and up the legs so I don’t catch them (I wasn’t wearing hosiery gloves this time)

I decided to wear mine differently; I went with the longer ankle and thigh part sitting on the front of the leg rather than to the sides or at the back. You can wear these multiple ways, but I wanted all the attention on the front this time round!

On The Legs: I have to say these look amazeballs on the legs! Not only is that pattern to die for, but these have a slight sheen to them so they’re not fully matte as you might think!

The quality of these are great and I really do like the way they fit the legs too. They have plenty of stretch in them so these don’t feel too tight on the legs in any way, and if you need to tug them up more on the legs, you have the option to do so 🙂

The fit of these are true to size, and as I mentioned before, these have a nice amount of stretch in them due to them being double sized for a more generic fit. The feel of these are so smooth and really nice to wear. You will find the design will have lurex bits, which can fall off with multiple wears (I have had that in the past) and you may find it irritates the skin depending if you have any skin conditions. I was alright in them and they were fine on my legs, but it’s something to note.

The design let me just say is divine! I love the heavy detailed front (which can be worn at the back too or at the side if you wish) which I chose to wear at the front as I wanted more of a statement front rather than keeping it hidden at the back. You can always switch it ot suit your mood.

The Toes & Ankle: so this is where it gets all fancy pants! The toes are reinforced (you will see a plain strip going across the toes) on the front and back. They have plenty of wiggle room to move. I kept my nails short so I wouldn’t have any issued with them ripping!

Around the ankles, it’s a lovely fitted smooth finish with that gorgeous design. You can see at the back that it’s a shorter piece, and the front is much longer. Like I mentioned, you can swap that round so the back is longer and the front is a shorter foot piece instead.

Let me just add that the design and lurex parts won’t irritate the feet. I had these on for hours in my shoes, and they were completely fine so you shouldn’t have any issues in these.

The Bands: have 2 small silicone strips at the top of the bands holding these up. They are great to be fair, and I had no issues with the bands pulling away from my legs or falling down so I am super pleased with that.

I sat my bands really high up the legs, but you can always opt for wearing them lower if you’re comfortable with that. I have to say I do love that deep lace floral band on these. It really just adds that whole luxe feel to them rather than being subtle design or plain.

My Thoughts?

I would certainly recommend these if you like designs like this. I thought they were great to dress up or down, and the quality of these are really good too!
