Oh hello little beauties. I have to say I love designs like this; bold, alluring, yet classy. Leg Avenue I have reviewed a few times, and have always had mixed feelings about them to be honest. They are a good brand, but sometimes I come across pairs I wouldn’t recommend when reviewing … So I do wonder how this pair will go.
If you haven’t seen my previous reviews before, hit the links below (opens in a new tab):
Colour: Black / Nude
Size: One Size
Denier: Approx 20-30
Materials: 55% Nylon, 22% Polyester, 12% Spandex
The Packaging: I won’t go into great detail about their packaging, as it usually stays the same. It shows the model on the front (and frontal view of the hosiery) and when you flip over, that’s where you get to see the back of the model (and back view of the hosiery).
When you get in, you will find these flat folded and wrapped around card. I was impressed that these were covering the whole card piece; a lot of companies tend to wrap both legs together in the centre, whereas this is spaced out to keep it flat inside.
The first thing I noticed was the designs were off. One leg had the full complete design on the leg, and the other was just a simple seam leading right to the band.
I cannot tell you how annoyed I was when I saw this; I was about to complain and bin them, but I thought I won’t and just do a review instead to show you all that sometimes there are packs which do miss Quality Control before they are finalised.
On The Legs: I used a mix of flash and natural lighting so you can see the difference in shades once they are on the legs.
Getting these on, I did struggle slightly; they went up fine over the feet, anklets, and most of the calves. Now coming up to the thigh, that black band is deadly. I struggled big time to get these up my thighs –
and think these are supposed to be a ‘one size’ pair. I highly doubt that to be honest! Please don’t tell me these are made in China where their sizing is so backwards where they cater for stick thin legs only!
I was so annoyed, as not long is the design botched up, but now these don’t want to go up the legs! I got them as high as I could so I didn’t get a muffin top hanging over the band. I was seriously disappointed!
On the legs, yeah I suppose they do look quite nice, but I am fuming at this stage taking my images. I kept on cursing under my breath!
The denier is good enough to make that black design stand out at the back which is great, but without the flash it made my legs look quite pasty rather than adding a darker tone. With flash on, they will look great, otherwise I looked whiter on the legs than usual.
The design I really do love, but how on earth could they miss the top of one leg? I seriously don’t get that. I was baffled for ages and then tried to work it out by looking up close, and then realising they genuinely forgot to sew it in as this isn’t stuck on separately.
The Toes & Ankle: okay so it gets a little worse here. It all looks good and well, but actually it was a nightmare. Around the toes, they are massive, to the point I had to tuck in the ends somehow when I wanted to try them on with shoes as there was so much loose material. Then the design was that thick under the soles, that it wasn’t fitted around the feet as I would have like it to have been.
Then the design is pretty bent underneath, so you need to keep readjusting it so it sits perfectly on the back.
Around the ankles, they were ok but they became slightly baggy the longer I was in them so I can’t say it was a fitted finish.
I am telling you these aren’t worth the hassle
The Bands: oh God I really don’t even wanna comment in this section of the review.
Disappointed is not the word – it’s even worse
I was so gutted with these; not only were they so tight on the thighs that my flesh was bulging out at the top, but the bands don’t sit flush either. They start to roll over itself giving you have rolled bump at the top. It doesn’t matter what suspender belt or how many clasps you use, it won’t stop it from doing so.
Just don’t even go there. This has got to be the worst pair of this year I have done so far. It certainly isn’t worth the price you pay or the amount of hassle it gives you.
