Gabriella Nicky City Collection

Gabriella is making a comeback, especially that I have bought myself over a dozen pairs for dirt cheap recently. I thought it was the best time to start reviewing these before we get beaming sunshine and warm temperatures.

I normally tend to leave the thicker deniers for those darker days or when it’s cold and wet, but this time I thought it’s a playful pair and I wanna show that you don’t always have to wear sheer in warmer weather if you’re not comfortable with your legs on show.

My Outfit

I decided to be playful (and this is something I have always wanted to try doing but never had the chance to do it for work before) by wearing a cardigan as an off-the-shoulder tucked into my skater skirt.

I added black heels instead of colour to make it work appropriate. You could always add converses or a pair of pumps to make this outfit causal.

The Review

From The Website: Gabriella Nicky is an elegant patterned tights 50 den. The model is made of high quality microfiber. Tights Nicky are with the latest collection autumn-winter 2015/2016 by Gabriella. The pattern in the form of a two-color grid will be an excellent complement to the autumn and winter styling. Tights are matte, opaque, have flat seams and invisibly reinforced toes.

The Packaging: so the packaging is quite loud. It has a lot of info on the front with the model wearing the colour that I will be shortly.

The back goes into slight detail about the hosiery, along with the sizing guide and hosiery care.

When you get in, you will find these folded around plain card, and flat as well (so there will be no foot or leg shaping to it)

On The Legs: just wow is what I can say. I love how the lighting creates different shades; they can seem quite light and bright, and other times they are toned down. I’m glad I’m wearing white so they have something to stand out against, whereas black would work for the office environment.

The quality of these are great; they are so thick in denier it will be super hard to snag or rip these without using some force. They do have some stretch to them but not much, which I hoped for so they have more of a fitted finish on the leg. Don’t get me wrong, they do fit my legs, but parts like the knees and ankles, it does pull away slightly.

The fit of them is true to size; I felt these did fit me perfectly regardless of the lack of stretch. I felt these weren’t too small or big for me. The feel of them are a lovely thick material, which is smooth and soft on the legs. I didn’t feel that these irritated in any way and to be honest, they kept my legs nice and warm.

The design is just super cute; I have never owned a pair like this before, so I was eager to try it out. Plus blue and white is another favourite combination of mine so I was more than happy to give this a go. I do have another pair which is identical but in a different colour to review, so that should be fun! These are great for those who do want total leg coverage; you do get some sheer parts but it’s still quite dark considering.

The Toes & Ankle: as you can see with the toes; it has that strip going across it. I would like to think that’s reinforcement, although the denier is pretty thick anyways so you would get that regardless.

I had plenty of wiggle room in these, and no pressure was added either. If anything, I felt that they were slightly big to begin with, until I slipped them into my heels and was in them all day that’s when they started to mould to my feet and toes.

Around the ankles, these were quite wrinkly as you can see below, which I wasn’t too happy about but nothing much I can do there seeing as the denier is thick so you would expect this.

The Waistband: the waistband comes in a boxer brief style; so you get the cut off point under the tushy / top thigh and then it works into a plain denier part.

The band itself was great to me; it held up well, had plenty of elasticity in them and basically worked for me. I didn’t feel these were too tight on the waist that they would roll over themselves or too loose that they would fall down.

My Thoughts?

I think these are brilliant! I love the design, absolutely love that colour and how they have treated me all day. I am so glad I got to give these a go, and bring on the next pair I have!
