Calzedonia Tulle Pizzo Nastro Socks

Now I have to say I am way behind on this collection; I got these last year around Christmas time, and I was so looking forward to reviewing them when they were in stock everywhere. But I somehow managed to keep pushing it back so it came into Spring 2019 instead.

This is part of their Special Edition Collection, which is stunning by the way! I have another 2 more pairs to do so you can see some of the styles that were out.

The Spec

My Outfit

I fancied dressing up a little for work today; I wore my midi polka dot dress paired with my suede court shoes. This can work both day and night (at night, maybe pop something across the shoulders)

The Review

The Packaging: now this is what I mean about their special edition. It truly does stand out and their packaging is amazing. It’s pretty simple, but enough to make that statement to sell. The front is quite plain, with the back showing you the model wearing the socks.

When you get in, you will find these wrapped in plastic packaging, and folded around card to keep their shape. These are shaped to the foot from a side view (if that makes sense) – so it won’t be how you would normally get them on.

Getting Them On: so you need to make sure that you big toes goes into the point of the socks. That way you get the backseam lined up ready under the sole and at the back of the ankle. I know you might find this a weird thing to do, but trust me when I say that your feet will get used to this in a matter of minutes.

I got the socks on then brought the ribbon to the front to tie the bow. You can tie a bow wherever you please to be honest.

On The Feet: I have to say they are so cute! They certainly cover a lot of your ankle!

The quality of these are great; they had no snags whatsoever and I can see these lasting as long as you treat them with care.

The fit is great; they were perfect for my foot size and they do have some stretch to them so you should be able to get into them with ease. The feel of them are super soft as well; not rough or grainy at all due to the finer mesh which is great so it means no irritation.

The design is just stunning; so elegant! However the only downfall is that the netting goes fall down the leg slightly and so does the bow. I had to keep on tightening the ribbon so it would stop, but it either loosens itself or it falls down at the front.

Around The Toes & Ankle: they are such a lovely flush finish around the toes and the ankle. The toes have plenty of wiggle room to them which is great, and no added pressure either. As you can see in one of the images below, you will find that very slight point on top of the big toe, but it’s fine if you’re wearing closed heels. I would need to try and tug these back if I was wearing open toe heels.

Now at the bottom of the ankle you might see a few wrinkles appear. This isn’t much of an issue if you’re walking around but you see it more when you’re sitting down.

Around the ankle, the mesh sits great with no issues at all. The ribbon as I mentioned before does fall down a lot, so you might wanna play around with it a little to find what works for you.

My Thoughts?

These are absolutely adorable and they look so elegant. You can dress these with skirts or even trousers if you wish to as well. I think they really are a pair to get your hands on for summer so if you didn’t want to wear hosiery, you have these instead to still create statement pieces.
