Cecilia de Rafael Energize 70 Compression Tights

I really wanna go funky for my blog today with some colour blocking. I thought why not seeing as I’m in some darker deniers and got some new boots and a new leather pinafore dress 🙂

So these gorgeous pair were gifted by a follower and I thought it would be the perfect time to do them now seeing as I’m currently on the move at lot with work and compression tights are really good to wear!

Before I forget to mention, I’m gonna be using a mix of flash and natural lighting so you can see how it looks in different lighting 🙂

The Review

From The Website: Cecilia de Rafael compression tights are designed to provide support by giving legs a graduated compression starting from your feet up to your thighs, using new leg care “energize” technology. You will notice a maximum level of compression in the foot progressively reducing to the thigh, featuring a boxer brief and high rise comfortable waist band that gives a control effect on your stomach with a slimming micro-massage effect. These beautifully soft 70 denier semi sheer tights also offer a great plus size fit, up to XXL, that is comfortable and flattering. The silky matt look of these pantyhose is smooth and soft to touch for a luxury wear. The light compression support revitalises legs by improving circulation so perfect for those who are on their feet all day. Also featuring a reinforced toe for strength and endurance. Available in plus size up to XXL for a comfortable all day wear. 45% Polyamide, 15% Elastane

The Packaging: the model wears the hosiery on the front, along with some information dotted around (which I think looks super cool) and the back goes into more detail about the hosiery along with the sizing guide and hosiery care:

“Leg Care Energize Lycra support tights combine effective compression with a perfect transparency that brings elegance to your legs. With the medical compression bases, Energize products provide the maximum level of compression in the ankle, reducing as it ascends to the thigh. Moreover we add a special girdle in support net 3/1 that bring a Slim effect in the belly. Triple effect: Graduated compression slim effect on belly and beautiful transparency in the legs.”

One you get in, you will find these shaped to the legs and feet, folded horizontally 🙂

Getting Them On: so bear in mind that the more you scrunch these down, the tighter they become to the point your fingers are squished together. As soon as you get it over the heel (and my anklets) you should be good to start rolling these up the legs. They will still be tight but not as bad as around the feet and ankles. I used gloves to begin with, but took them off half way as I had to go some slight wiggling to get into them *eye rolling face*

On The Legs: once I got them on, they look so nice against the yellow and green. I am glad that these aren’t really opaque and had some sheerness to them to help create a gorgeous look with the outfit.

So denier and quality wise – I had no issues whatsoever. No snags, runs or rips anywhere on the hosiery. The only part I did scuff up was from my boots on the inner ankle which I was miffed about, but not much I can do about that now!

The fit and feel of them are superb: they really do look amazing and fit so well. I would certainly say they are true to size, however if you feel you’re in between, then maybe go one size up! They feel so soft and smooth on the legs, and have such a lovely shine on them too when the light hits!

The compression element is actually really good; I did feel it throughout the day and I gotta say it did keep my legs warm and they didn’t hurt as much as they normally do when I am trekking around for work. I have come across some before that actually don’t do anything, but I can say that I did feel the difference in these. My legs didn’t feel so tired by the end of the day like they normally would.

The Toes & Ankle: so the toes and heel have a little reinforcement which I really like 🙂 The only downside is that my toes did feel slightly cramped during the day; being in pointed boots didn’t help that either. I don’t think the compression starts from the feet but as these were super tight to begin with, I really did feel it on the toes in the morning. My feet did become used to it mid way through the day, but something to keep in mind if you do decide to get a pair.

Around the ankles, these are a proper smooth wrinkle-free finish 🙂

The Waistband: so these have a high boxer brief so you can still wear anything short, compared to some boxer briefs you can come across.

The waistband itself  is pretty decent; nice and snug around the waist. During the day I found it to slightly wrinkle over itself; nothing major but it did become a little uncomfortable.

My Thoughts?

I do love these and think they are worth what you pay. If you’re a person on the move like I normally am, these are a pair to invest in. I have done some in lower deniers before, but for winter these work really nicely.

The denier, fit and feel are really good, and I had no issues at all being in them.
