Ooooo hello Pretty Polly! I gotta say I am loving their new collection (even though these aren’t that new – but a good pair to have!)
So today I woke up and decided that I wanted to dress up a little for the sake of it; it happens now and again (I don’t really know why or how) but I rolled with it and though these were a good versatile pair to dress up!
Materials: 91% nylon, 9% elastane
Seeing as I felt like dressing up to work a little, I decided to rock my white halterneck dress paired with my wedge booties (just to tone it down a little).
I added a waist belt as the dress looks super huge on me without it and left my hair in natural waves.
Dress: Miss Selfridge
Belt: taken off another dress set – not sure which one
Holdups: Pretty Polly
Booties: New Look
From The Website: Day To Night is a great versatile range for wearing at the office and then at a dinner date, or whilst running errands and then going for drinks with friends. Everything about these hold ups is made for versatility. They even come as a two pair pack, so that if you’ve worn these hold ups during the day and want to freshen up, you can stash the other pair in your bag for later.
* 2 pair pack
* 15 denier
* Smooth look
* Sheer leg
* Lace top
* Lightly reinforced toe
* 91% Nylon
* 9% Elastane
The Packaging: so the front shows the model wearing a pair (not too sure if it’s the same colour as I have got) with the brand name and some info about them. Nice to know I get 2 pairs in this pack (woop!)
The back goes into more detail about them along with hosiery care etc:
“These sheer 15 den lace hold ups will give your legs a beautiful smooth look that will take you all the way through the day and into the evening. Each of the two pairs of hold ups is individually wrapped in a bag, so they are protected until you wear them. Keep one in your handbag so you’ve always got a spare handy!
(PS – they’ve got a lovely lace top that sits flat against your skin and a lightly reinforced toe)”
Once you get inside, you will find 2 lovely packs all neatly folded around card. These are folded where you get the foot and leg shaping to it, for a gorgeous fit.
Getting Them On: now I did a contrast between normal daylight and the flash on so you can see the difference. I did my usual scrunch and roll with silk hosiery gloves and got them on completely fine. I didn’t have any issues with my anklets or with them being too small. WOOP!
On The Legs: oh my goodness they are real nice! Like you get that gorgeous little shimmer to them – now I can see how this works from day to night. It’s perfect for something subtle and if you like the comfort of holdups rather than tights or stockings.
The denier is fab for that barely there look on the legs; a nice thin coverage.
The quality is real good too; not one single snag or rip occurred in these throughout the day (and evening!)
The colour gives a nice summer tan glow; nothing too fake looking but more of a natural look, which I really like from time to time. Especially when wearing white I don’t like going too dark with nudes!
The fit of them work well for my legs; there is no gapping or anywhere I found to be loose. The feel of them are real smooth and silky on the legs which I like with that shimmer!
The Toes & Ankle: so these are sandal toe (slightly reinforced) which is perfect for those who want to wear peep or open toe shoes. There is plenty of space for your toes to move and breathe and no extra loose material is to be seen.
Around the ankles, they sit real flush against the skin without any wrinkles either; although this depends on how far you pull them up your legs. I wear mine quite high so I would be surprised if I saw gatherings compared to if I wore them half way down the thigh.
The Bands: a real nice band with a simple lace design to them; perfect for everyday wear if I must say. I know I wear some fancy ones to work, but sometimes simplicity is key. These are double siliconed at the top of the band, and the grip is really good. I did take them on and off a few times during the day to see how well they stick back on – and they passed the test 🙂
I would say these do stretch out to your legs (which is a good thing) but not a great thing when you decide to wear them on a slimmer part of the legs – a suspender belt will be needed here to keep them from looking all flappy!
For what you pay for a double pack, these are so worth it. In my eyes they’re a simple elegant pair that I would keep in my my bag as a spare if I ever needed it in a crisis. They work for almost anywhere you decide to go or even if you keep it for bedroom wear. Either way, I would recommend these for sure. The denier is great along with the quality, the silk touch with the shimmer is to die for and overall they are fab!
