Gatta is back in my life .. and it ain’t messing when they say it’s fancy! I added these to my wishlist some time ago, and I am so glad that I finally have them in my life!
Seeing as these are a mock suspender looking pair, I wanted to create a look that was suitable for work rather than going casual (like most people would)…
Now before anyone gets a little happy, the skirt comes off so anything orange you’re gonna see is my bodysuit (NOT my underwear) just so I can show you the design as fully as I can.
Materials: 89% Polyamid, 11% Elastane
I wore my orange bodysuit with my black leather skirt to create a pop, which then works nicely into polka dots and faded court shoes. I was going to do just black shoes, but seeing as the faded courts are black and nude, I thought it worked pretty well.
I left my hair down and added simple jewellery – You could always do hair up for a more office-type look – I didn’t wanna go too formal!
Top: New Look
Shoes: EKS Patent Heels
The Packaging: like most Gatta packaging, these have the model wearing the hosiery on the front so you can see the full design. It’s pretty clean and crisp to look at. At the back it goes into a little more detail:
“Tights for ladies, patterned, made of braided elastan type yarn, matt”
Once you get in, you will find these folded around card (neatly of course), flat folded so I am hoping they won’t need a bit of twisting to make them sit straight!
Getting Them On: all I can say is luckily this didn’t need a lot of twisting. Under the knees the polka dots were fine, the toe seams sat perfectly and the backseam was straight. Now as you move upwards where you start your mock suspender bit – you wanna make sure that these are lined up and straight as possible – which was easy enough to do! I did this with minimal effort – the last thing I need is to faff first thing in the morning!
Oh before I forgot, these were fine going over anklets too!
On The Legs: these were a dream to be in! I found them comfortable and subtly hugging the legs.
The denier is 20, which once again will work with so many outfits. It’s not too light or too dark on the legs (although it does depend on your skin colour) and it works so well for work!
The quality of them are really good; I didn’t get any snags or have any issues being in them all day which is a bonus!
The fit of them are perfect for my legs; I didn’t feel they were too tight or too loose that they would form a wrinkle section on the ankles.
The feel of them were super smooth, considering they are matte. I have to say these do have a slight shine to them when the flash hit, but they do stay predominantly matte.
The design I am seriously crushing over; I love how it has a fair bit going on. The cute polka dots with the backseam, and then working into a suspender look with the belt working right to the top under the waistband. Hosiery like this is exactly what I love; it’s playful, it’s quirky and it can work with so much creating such stunning fashion looks!
The Toes & Ankle: I had no issues with the toes whatsoever during the day; the seams sat against my toes and didn’t budge and there was plenty of wiggle room for my feet and toes to move and breathe.
Around the ankles, I did find that near to the end of the day, they did start to slowly wrinkle up. Although the image below shows my ankles bent instead of straight; you can see what I mean when I look down and walk.
The Waistband & Gusset: now the band is a great one to begin with, and then it starts to do its own thing throughout the day. I had to unroll it a few times as it started to mess about after a few pull up and downs.
Saying that, these hug the waist really well and they have plenty of elasticity in them to stop it from squeezing the life out of you.
I would certainly recommend these if you were thinking of getting them. I love the way they look on the legs, the fit and feel of them are great and despite those little points I made, I would still say go get them 🙂
