Let’s switch it up a little with a pair of denim leggings I bought in the sale from The Tight Spot!
As much as I love doing hosiery, I like to switch it up from time to time, and seeing as this brand is a complicated one in my eyes, I thought let me revisit hoping it will actually make me rethink buying into the brand once again.
Materials: 45% Viscose, 30% Polyester, 20% Polyamide, 5% Elastane
Price: £14.95 / Sale £6.95
From The Website: These Leggings from Guilia have a similar look to skinny jeans with a detailed seam down the side of the leg and around the waist. These fabulous leggings also have pockets at the back for that true denim jeans look. Coming in blue or denim these jeggings have a high fashion look that has all the advantages of jeans but with added comfort. Wear these with a jumper for a casual everyday look, or match with a short top for evening wear. 45% Viscose, 30% Polyester, 20% Polyamide, 5% Elastane
– 100 Denier
– Skinny Jean Look
– Pockets at Back
– Fashion Legging
The Packaging: as these are quite thick, they come in a slim-line box (which was kinda bashed about a little so looks a little beaten in some images below). The front shows the model wearing them in blue (not the colour I chose) and the back goes into a little more detail about the jeggings.
Getting Them On: so for those of you who haven’t done jeggings before, these slip on just like leggings would but look like jeans and have the (slight) thickness of them too.
You can scrunch and roll if you wish to; I normally do just for my anklet’s sake and then I just pull them right up.
These do have a fair bit of stretch in them on the legs, so you won’t need to worry about them feeling too tight on the legs, and they defo will in the waistband.
On The Legs: so once they’re on they fit so nice. They’re comfortable, they’re not too tight on the legs (so you won’t feel the need to walk like you got something up your backside) and they look just like jeans!
The denier is 100, but I feel like they’re a lot thicker than that. These are completely solid in colour so you won’t need to feel like you’re gonna get bits that will stretch and show leg!
The feel of them are super soft and real nice on the legs I gotta say.
So the only bit I have to mention that I wasn’t too keen on was the gapping under the knees; there was excess material here with made it look baggy. It wasn’t too bad when you’re standing, but it’s annoying once you notice it and your focus is on that point only.
I get that they’re supposed to have the jeans effect, but that does irritate me a fair bit, so it did put me off a little.
Around The Ankles: now as these sat around ankle level and made me look shorter than I actually am, I decided to roll them up (twice) to give me some height and work with the heels. If you’re not the type to do this, then leave them down, but I prefer to roll them up as with heels I look so short and stubby!
I made these sit just higher than the ankle, which worked so well with my outfit.
The Waistband: now this was a pain! As great as they look below, they proper played up! These state that they’re a small, but that’s more for bigger UK 8 to UK 10 sizing. I’m like a smaller UK 8 verging on UK 6, so these felt loose around the waist which was a letdown.
These are elasticated and do have plenty of stretch in them (not like I need it to be honest this time) and sits just under the belly button.
The inside of them (shown below) are black, super soft and super cosy! You do have a nice layer (both inside and out) to keep those legs cosy (maybe not in summer though!)
I think these are great; easy to wear, look like jeans, fit like leggings and are so comfortable. The only downside for me was the sizing as I would have preferred them to fit a little better on the waist and around the knees. Maybe if they did an X-Small I would have opted for them.
Otherwise these are pretty awesome!
