Hunkemöller Floral Lace Tights

So bring on the 1st of 3 purchases from Amsterdam. I didn’t actually realise you can get this brand in the UK, but I’m just gonna go with it was my little momento from my trip.

I do have something similar to these that I got from ASOS many years ago (and are still going strong to this day!) – I thought it would be a good idea to get something similar so I can let go of my previous pair!

My Outfit

As I was off travelling around the UK, I decided to go with my t-shirt tucked into my denim lace skirt and I added my coverses with it to finish off the casual look. I also paired my tan coat with it (when I was out and about) and added the choker last minute to give it a little boost.

The Review

From The Website: These elegant tights feature an attractive pattern in a thicker fabric.

• “Returns: for reasons of hygiene, only unopened and sealed returns are accepted”
• Machine wash at 40 °C in a hosiery bag using liquid detergent
• Hosiery

90% Polyamide / 10% Elastane

The Packaging: this reminds me of LegsAvenue a little with the way it’s designed and the layout of it. IT shows the model at the front wearing the hosiery and then the back goes into just a little more detail, including hosiery care, sizing and the following:

“Our Hunkemöller hosiery is designed with high quality long lasting yarns and a perfect fit. Giving you fabulous & sexy legs. Look at hunkemoller.com for more.”

When you get inside, you will find these wrapped around cardboard (it’s a flimsy piece) and shaped to the feet and legs.

Now I was not impressed because I saw these had already got snags over it! I mean like how!?!

Getting Them On: standard scrunch and roll process needs to be done! So I tried to line these up the best I can at the front, but I have to admit, these twist so easily. I thought it was me at first, until I realised that the design was slightly bent on the legs anyways, so there was not much more I could have done.

Over anklets, you will need to take super care as these snag easily as it is, so you don’t want them catching on! Mine were ok to roll the tights over, but I would still take extra care.

On The Legs: so on the legs, these are ok. I won’t say they are the greatest as the design has a mind of its own and they snag up real quick!

The denier is perfect for the lace design to be really bold and striking on the legs, which works super well in my eyes!

The feel of them aren’t that great but it does; it doesn’t have a smooth, soft feel to them but I can’t say they feel rough either. It’s a weird one, but hey!

The design I was pretty confused about; I thought you would see more of a lace pattern, but you don’t. It’s pretty blocked out with some section being quite transparent and showing a little lace design. It’s got a bit of a mix going on, which does work but I suppose it would have been nicer if you could see some intricacy.

The quality … could be so much better. Not only did I start off with snags, I ended up getting some more during the day which I was miffed about.  It is super easy to do, which means you gotta be careful wearing these. I always mention that the last thing you need to worry about is your hosiery, but in this case, you need to actually be mindful just to keep them looking mint for as long as possible.

The Toes & Ankle: now… I found a blah point with this part. Normally I never have issues with toes, but this time I found them too tight on my toes to the point they were squishing them and there was so much pressure put onto them. I had to take them off and put them back on, and even then I still found it didn’t make it any better.

They are fine when you first put them on, but once you’re moving around in them after a few hours, they actually do hurt!

Around the ankles these sit kinda smooth-ish, but the heavy lace part does crinkle it up a little, which will show if you’re wearing footwear that doesn’t cover the ankle area. It wasn’t too bad to be honest, as long as you don’t look down!

The Waistband: okay so first thing; these fluff up a lot. As I tucked my t-shirt in, when I took it off, all I saw was a big fluffy dark patch on me! It catches fluff like there is no tomorrow, so be mindful of that. I had to get a lint brush on these to try and get most of it off!

Anyways so the band itself is comfortable, and I had no issues with it during the day. It fits really well and holds up great too!

My Thoughts?

Not too sure it was worth the 14 euros I paid for them to be honest. They are a gorgeous design but when it comes to the quality.. I am not liking it one bit!

The toe part was a let down, the snagging was a massive issue in my eyes and I just don’t think it was worth it in the end.

I just might be keeping my old pair for a little while longer now …
