Well it would be wrong if I didn’t try mock over-the-knee type of hosiery seeing as I’ve done them with most brands! I saw these and though they were so awesome with the way it was cut out polka dots on the bottom and them splashed on the sheer part.
These types of tights I really do like; they know how to make your legs look longer without even trying. All you have to do is make sure you wear the right outfit with them to pull it off, otherwise… I won’t comment.
Denier: 60 Bottom / 20 Top
Materials: 50% nylon, 44% polyester, 6% elastane
Price: £34.95 / Sale £19.95
I kept it simple for work and not going too OTT for once with my black floaty skater dress and added (once again) the black Dune court shoes with them just to make them all girly girly!
From The Website: These tights from Wolford are an extraordinary mock over the knee design with bursts of polka dots across the thigh. The polka dots are scattered in sheer or opaque bursts – depending whether they fall on the 20 denier sheer top or 60 denier opaque thigh high part, to contrast with the base finish. This sophisticated design has a comfortable, soft knitted waistband and a reinforced knitted section underneath the waistband for a better fit. Would be perfect with a party dress or miniskirt. 50% Nylon, 44% Polyester, 6% Elastane
– 60 Denier
– Polka Dot Pattern
– Soft Waistband
– No Gusset
The Packaging: You can spot Wolford packaging from a mile off to be honest. They all tend to look the same, but I say that in a good way though for those who are just getting into brands.
The front shows the model wearing them with her gorgeous legs, and the back always gives you a decent lowdown of the hosiery:
“Effective polka dots: these extravagant tights score points with their opaque and translucent sections, giving a sophisticated over-the-knee effect. Comfortable, soft-knitted waistband. The tighter knitted section underneath the comfortably soft waistband ensures additional hold. A stylish classic item.”
Inside, you will find the quality assurance sticker (always look out for this) and the hosiery neatly folded around cardboard. When you take it out, you will see it slightly shaped to your legs, which means these are gonna be a gorgeous fit.
Getting Them On: always scrunch and roll with Wolford; being a luxurious brand, the last thing you want is to ruin them as soon as you get them on your legs. They are pretty sturdy things so you don’t need to worry, but no harm in taking precautions! I used leg line to help me get these on as easily as possible; it always helps as it means it slips exactly where it needs to on the toes and you can work up from there on rather than faffing around.
With anklets especially, I would remove any sharp ones and just take care going over others.
On The Legs: these looks great! The best thing about mock stocks is how they make your legs look longer, regardless of what you wear with it. Plus it looks like you’ve layered as well which saves you having to actually do it (if you get me?)
The denier is fab for colder days, with the bottom half being around 60 keeping those legs slightly warm.
The design is super cool; the way they’re cut out at the bottom and look like they’re stuck at the top. It’s just a quirky pair I find, which can be worn in so many different ways! The 60 denier ends just over the knees, but this can also be height dependent as well; I’m a shortie so it will sit slightly higher on me that the average 5ft 7″ person!
The fit and feel is great on these; normally I’m an XS in Wolford and with these being a Small I had a little more material to play with, so the deniers were darker rather than fully stretched out on the legs like they normally would be. They still fit really well on the legs; around the calves and the thighs I had no issues! However I did find around the knees that there was some extra material which gathered around this part!
The feel is super soft, however the thicker denier does catch fluff easily, so you will need to watch where you’re sitting or rolling around on in these. My bed always ends up putting fluff on my hosiery, but one good way of testing it out hey!?
The Toes & Ankles: smooth finishes all around. The toes have plenty of wiggle room in them, they’re lovely and soft on the feet and around the ankles and they don’t add any pressure onto the toes during the day.
Around the ankles there isn’t any crinkling of material, so fine to wear with shoes that expose this section.
The Waistband & Gusset: well this is a surprise. For the first time on Wolfords, it hasn’t got a gusset on them! Now I’m not too sure what you commando-ers do when it comes to this, but I sure am wearing undies with them regardless!
The waistband I never have an issue with when it comes to Wolford; it’s always super comfortable, holds the hosiery up well and it doesn’t dig in during the day either. It sits around the belly button (on me anyways) and they don’t come falling down at any stage or roll over itself.
I love them! Clearly mock stocks are my thing at the moment, so try a pair for yourself if you’re liking the design (as well as the brand!)
The quality is great, and you would get that normally from Wolford. I love the fit and feel on the legs, and the fact that they always know how to make them look great!
