Well Wolford is making a comeback right now with a few pairs that I managed to get a hold of! I thought I might as well do a week’s worth whilst I can seeing as I’m doing it with other brands!
Now a lot of you may not be a fan of luxury brands, you might find it too expensive for what it is or think they’re a waste of money. Well this is where I tell you that you don’t need to pay the full price for them as I always tend to bargain hunt and find them on other sites where they can offer it from 15% to 80% cheaper! There are plenty of places that you can get hold of current and previous styles, but you just got to know where to look.
Now these I got off eBay around June time (2017 we’re talking here) and haven’t been able to wear them until now as I’ve had so many others to do! I will try to hunt down where you can get a pair from, otherwise just Google it 🙂
Colour: Black / Black
Materials: 76% nylon, 19% elastane, 5% unknown
I went quite bold with these; I wore my black long sleeve top with my orange skater skirt and added my Dune court shoes. I am really living out of them at the moment!
I left my hair down and added my double choker and small studs to finish off the look.
Top: Dorothy Perkins
Skirt: River Island
The Packaging: so the packaging is just like the others; the model at the front posing in those gorgeous tights along with information about the hosiery on the back, including care, sizing etc:
“Let the show begin: These tights have an enticing lace boot look, created by pulling an elastic satin ribbon through knitted loops from toe to stay-up line. For the summer, the boot shaft is styled with a fine dot pattern on a transparent background.“
As soon as you get in, you find these folded vertically (meaning you get that leg shaping to them) with all the ribbony goodness waiting!
Getting Them On: I had to be so careful it was unreal. I was so scared of pulling out the ribbons like I did last time with my Girardi Sinueuse Lace Up Tights where I just ended up popping it off! I wore hosiery gloves just to make sure that I didn’t end up snagging or catching these whilst I was getting them on.
On The Legs: they look so damn good! I love the whole look! Where the lace works from the ankle right to to the thigh with the polka dots giving it that boot look and the outer parts all plain and sheer and just divine! I swear these are something else for sure!
The denier is great to make these stand right out with the design being just slightly darker to make it more bolder.
I also gotta give credit to the lace, as it’s some durable one you know! It’s not this naff cr*ppy lace you can get on some hosiery; this has some stretch to it! I love it!
The look and feel of them are great too; they are super soft and smooth and they make the legs looks amazeballs. I really can’t tell you enough how much I think these are the greatest statement tights I have tried!
The lace part does stay put all day without you having to worry. I thought with my going to the loo that it would make it loose, or it might just pull and stretch too much. Honestly, it doesn’t do any of that. It stays exactly how you tied it!
The Toes & Ankles: just perfect. I have no complaints here to be honest! There is plenty of wiggle room and no pressure put on the toes during the day. These are not reinforced I believe so longer nails may need to be trimmed to have more of a comfortable fit.
Around the ankles; smooth finish. There is no crinkling or the tights falling down and gathering here, so you’re good to go!
The Waistband: and no complaints here too! The band is proper comfortable like the rest of the Wolford bands are like; smooth finish, enough stretch in them and doesn’t squeeze the life outta you. They hold these up really well throughout the day and still keep their elasticity no matter how many times you decide to take them off!
I think these are just fabulous! Not only are they a statement pair in themselves, but they are just fantastic. I haven’t seen anything like this before and I am loving it. I love the quality, how they feel and especially how they look!
Seriously if you can get hold of a pair, then do so!
