Rolling onto the next Calzedonia Disney collection – the Minnie Mock Stocks. I have no idea what they are actually called as there is no name stated on the packaging at all, and not even on my till receipt! So I’m naming as I go along (secretly hoping it works out in my favour!)
Once again, this pair is from my trip to Berlin and as you can imagine, I was dying to get into them seeing as it was way too cold to get them on in Berlin (and I certainly didn’t want to layer on top of them!)
Size: 1-2 / Small-Medium
Denier: Unknown (Around 20 top and 40-60 bottom)
Price: 13 euros
Seeing as I did grungey the other day, let’s go flipmode and do a cute-ish outfit (with a new skirt may I add here!)
I wore my crop jumper with my velvet skirt and I decided to add in my fake converses.I bought these on a whim from Primark as I needed some flats that were pretty decent and these came through for me, so instead of dirtying my converses I use these instead!
I got to note it here that this skirt kept riding up against the tights – it sits more mid thigh but with these, let’s say it just covered my tushy!
I kept jewellery minimum and left my hair down
The Packaging: now I got these from the same store in Berlin .. yet these are wrapped!! It doesn’t make sense! Anyways …. the front shows the collaboration with Disney with the back showing an image of the hosiery on the model. It doesn’t state much at the side to be honest, doesn’t give you the materials of the hosiery either and then there is the sizing guide and washing instructions.
Because the packaging and its contents are so limiting, I don’t really know what else to say here to be honest. It’s more about open it up and see what’s inside now.
Getting Them On: okay so getting in, these are neatly wrapped around cardboard. One side you find the design of them with the cute bow, and the other is the band tucked in.
With these being top delicate (including the bow in this), you will need to be careful getting them on. To make it easier, these have the Disney label inside of them, so you know front to back easily. I would scrunch and roll these carefully and use hosiery gloves with these as the denier is thicker on the bottom so you should be able to do it with ease.
On The Legs: I thought it was easier to slideshow a lot of these piccies as I took so many in them (I loved them a lot as you can tell!). These fit great on the legs not gonna lie here and they stay put all day too.
The feel of them are great; super smooth and soft and potentially could be easy to snag in the sheerer parts. I would be careful here, whereas the bottom of them you won’t need to worry about so much.
I love how these actually elongate the legs without even trying and heels or flats will either help you or work against you so choose your footwear wisely!
So the material is not the type to fall down or crinkle on bends and under the knee, so you’re pretty much sweet to rock these out without having to worry about the fit.
The Design: the Minnie ears sit just above the knees (this is also height dependent too) with the bottom being the whole mock look, and the top turning into sheer bliss up until the waistband.
I did notice at the back of the legs where the Minnie ears are is there is a faint thick band; not too sure why but you see it fade into the sheer from this point upwards. I had the flash on which hid it a little, but you can tell in normal daylight.
I will mention here that the darker denier bottom does catch fluff (I don’t know what Calzedonia hosiery does this) so note that down!
I love the whole contrast as it makes doing the whole over knee design so easy rather; you don’t have to try and create it yourself. I know a lot of people struggle to do it but aren’t confident to try out mock stockings / overknees like this, but it just shows how easy it is to create that look without trying. The only downside is that you still get sheerness at the bottom whereas socks would be the block black.
The Toes: okay so the toes are great; no problems with room or pressure on them. The only thing I did notice when I got them on was a little point at the side of my baby toe, This does away eventually and shapes round the feet nicely but it did bug me a little.
These aren’t reinforced but due to the higher denier, they potentially are (a little) but still be careful with longer nails in these just in case.
The Waistband: once again a great fit – the right size thickness and it stays up well. The band hasn’t moved at all during the day and it stays up really well too!
It doesn’t roll down on itself or anything which is great and once again the cotton gusset is just the same as the rest I have reviewed if you wanted to go commando in them.
Whilst you can before they go, I would recommend these pair for sure. I found them great to be in, the quality is decent and I didn’t end up with a single snag.
The bows are adorable and give it that cute factor if you’re after it, or you can always change it to be more punky – play with it!
I have one more to go like these, so expect a similar blog to pop up shortly!
