Oooo weeeeee! Happy Hump Day in Wolfords!
So this pair is one that I got hold of in TKMaxx all thanks to Hosiery For Me recommending it on their Instagram! I had to sort through so many before I finally managed to get a pair in my size.
I have to say I was a little hesitant as it’s a blue I haven’t done before on the legs (I have the Fatal dress in this colour) – but not in a pair of tights!
Materials: 97% polyamide, 3% elastane
Price: £31.00 / Sale £7.99
Website: Bought in TKMaxx store
Seeing as it’s a statement pair I am in (and I mean colour-wise), I decided to keep it slightly casual and let the legs do the talking.
I went with my oversized jumper along with my floral boots and added the scarf just to shake it up a little. I did hesitate at first, but then rolled with it seeing as it’s now winter so it’s allowed in my eyes!
Earrings I kept minimum with pearl studs and left the hair down. You can always tie it up to make it look more on the smart(ish) side.
Jumper: Dorothy Perkins
Boots: Simmi Shoes
The Packaging: simple, straight to the point and easy to read. That’s what I like about Wolford is that it’s clean and precise.
So the front shows the model in the pair, along with minor details and a small peep hole at the top so you can see the colour.
The back gives you more information about the tights along with sizing, wash and care etc.
“Matt and trendy: These opaque tights are wonderfully comfortable and even keep you warn in cold temperatures. The soft knitted waistband guarantees a perfect fit. High durability thanks to plating technology. Cotton gusset. Provides subtle elegance.“
Getting Inside: so inside you will find these neatly folded around a promotional card, along with the certificate of quality. This is one of the key things you need to look for when purchasing Wolfords as that will tell you everything you need to know about the hosiery; fit, quality, size etc.
On The Legs: so getting these on is so easy; they have a label at the back so you know which way to get them on to begin with. As these are my size, I do need to stretch a little but it means I get the perfect fit all day long.
Once they were on, you get an even finish (minus around the feet – this always seems thicker and darker compared to the rest of the legs – I’ll talk about this further down). Otherwise very decent coverage; fits into all the bumpy bits (around ankles, under knees) without pulling away with you sit down or bend them.
The Denier & Colour: so the denier is 80 but you still get a subtle sheerness through them, which is quite nice actually. I find it makes them look more like tights than leggings. IT’s a real nice thick denier, and it does actually keep your legs warm too (like it said on the packaging) – although this is dependent on where you are and what you’re doing all day too!
Now the colour is a risky one for me, but I am so glad I gave them a go. I wasn’t actually going to get them until I convinced myself to be open to trying new colours, so I went for it and glad I did now. It’s an usual blue, which can be worn all year long. Darker blues I tend to say it’s best to wear when it’s darker days, and vice versa. But this is a different type of blue, which can be rocked out whenever and wherever.
The Toes: okay so the toes and feet is something to talk about. The toes have plenty of wiggle room in them, which is fab! They don’t have any lumpy bumpy extra material around them either which is nice (and what you expect!) They give decent coverage which mean nail varnish isn’t peering through too much (unless you want it to, then I would suggest darker colours).
The coverage is just amazing; but like I mentioned it’s not even like the legs, so you may need to tug up during the day if you’re wearing more open-type shoes.
Now one thing to mention is that I managed to fluff these up from my boots. I ended up scuffing them which left a slight mark on the feet; it’s not that visible here but up close you can really see it.
The Band: this is such a great band I can’t even express. It’s super soft, hugs really nicely (and not too tight either!) and stays up all day long. It doesn’t roll around the stomach either, which is perfect if you sit all day like I do.
It sits around my belly button area, but that is once again dependent on your size, height etc.
The cotton gusset is also present as well; so if you’re anti-underwear, then these will see you through the day!
Soooo…. I am totally recommending these for winter! They are so snug, the quality is just great (no snags or anything!), and the denier is just perfect to keep those legs warm yet looking fashionable too!
I fell in love with the colour, and would certainly wear these again (normally I would just review and put them to the side when it’s bold colours), but these I actually would pull out.
If you’re around TKMaxx I would certainly recommend you to pop in and get yourself a pair whilst you can!
