And here we go with another from Carra which I am excited about. I love backseams and the fact that they’re on a matte finish is just amazeballs! I know my previous review on the Almost Opaque wasn’t as great as I would have like it to have been, but I am hoping today will be a better one!

I decided to pull out a different combination for work – my black spotty shirt with a tie ribbon neck with my puffy yellow (this will shade differently in the images below) and my black court shoes.
I don’t know why I decided to pull out this combo, but for some reason I thought it worked well! Everyone at work loved it too – real bright and summery on a drab day!
I kept my hair up in a pony and swept back my fringe too, which added to the look! I kept it simple and just added pearl studs.

The Packaging: the box itself is a slim-line one. It has a generic look at the front which is quite nice and cutesy, and the back gives you more detail about the hosiery along with sizing etc.
On the back it states the following:
“1 pair hosiery with an ultra-sexy, built-in French lace panty.”
“The Chelsea Collection. No undies required! Our gorgeous line of hosiery is deigned with sexy, built-in panties featuring moisture-wicking fabric. You’ll look fabulous and feel it too… all day long.”
Getting Them On: the hosiery are wrapped around cardboard and the first thing I saw is how slim the legs are and the bumpy panty part. These aren’t shaped to the legs or anything, but you can see the backseam pop up in front of you, so you can tell which way to get them on. One thing I do love is that these have the sole panel underneath which makes it easier to help you line up your seam at the back to begin with.
The Toes: they’re covered with a panel which works into the soles. This only covers the top of the toes, so you can get away with peep toes or courts that cover the toes and then expose the lower part of the toes. There is plenty of wiggle room in these and they don’t move about either – the panel stays in place the whole day, however this is dependent on the shoes you pair them with as well.
On The Legs: these gives a nice coverage on the legs, which actually works for those of you who are after this sort of look for winter. I am loving the statement backseam as this is added on top rather than worked into the hosiery, so it’s a lot bolder.
I do have to say that you don’t get a smooth coverage in terms of the denier; it wasn’t as patchy as my last pair, but there were smaller section where it was darker/lighter on the legs, so you may want to re-roll them on again just to sort that out.
The Panty: now I did the unimaginable (well for me anyways) – I went knicker-less with these to give it a go and I am glad I did. The last pair I wore underwear and gave feedback with what it was like with it on. This time I went without nothing and it was so weird to begin with.
So the cotton gusset sits flush against you and does keep you well aired but comfortable at the same time. It took me ages to get used to it, but I got there in the end and it just felt normal.
It didn’t feel itchy or like you have to adjust yourself at any point. These just sit against you like you would expect it to and stay put until you move it yourself.
The Band: is a good sturdy one. Lots of elasticity in them, and they sit around the waist (around the belly button area). I have had no problems with them at all during the day, and going knicker-less, I thought it might make a difference but it didn’t. They sat exactly where I placed them and didn’t move all day until I rolled them up or down. There are no logos or tags; just a plain simple band that does a good job!
The Backseam: I mentioned before is a statement one which I love. It stands out, more than others I have tried before. This is due to the thicker denier and width of it to make it like that. One thing I will mention is that it does bobble up when you keep constantly rubbing it against other materials (similar to jumpers and cardigans etc) – so just be mindful it won’t stay pristine as you would like it to.
On a happier note, these stay straight all day without no issues; I hate having to readjust seams and this was not a worry at all!
The Quality & Denier: is decent actually, even if it doesn’t look it. I have to admit I wasn’t too keen on the patchy bits but it isn’t a big deal as it wasn’t as bad as the last pair I did.
In terms of the ladder-resistant, I can say that these have served me well all day. There were hardly any snags, and I am truly impressed! I managed to pinch and pull at these most of the day to trial them out, and they are really amazing! I even took my nails to them and poked and scratched away, and still nothing. So these are good if you need durability during the day!
The denier is perfect, but I wouldn’t suggest these with stubbly legs as it would show through. However, they’re still decent for the colder days to keep your legs looking warm (maybe not feeling it so much lol!)
The Sizing: now these I am doing in my normal size (Small), and I thought with Medium being so fitted on me, I thought Small would be even tighter but that’s not the case. They are still comfortable, still feel great and hugs the legs so nicely too. I didn’t encounter any problems whatsoever with the sizing!
I am loving these! I love the backseam, love the matte against it and love the fact that you can actually wear these without underwear!
The denier could be slightly better in terms of patchiness, but otherwise I am not gonna make a big deal over it. I just love the fact that they’re ladder resistant!
Thank you Carra Hosiery for these pairs – they are something amazing and I am glad I gave them a go!
